Every secret of a writer's soul, every experience of her life, every quality of her mind is written large in her works. ~Virginia Woolf

Hello, ¡Hola!, Hallo, Bonjour, Cześć, Privet, Zdrasti, Hej!

Welcome to Ruthie’s Corner! I’ve always wanted to do something in life that says I was here and for me, writing helps me accomplish that. My gift to my friends, my family and my readers are the gift of words. When you read my words, I hope I’ll leave my hand print and my heart print on your heart. That’s the goal and I hope my words will do just that.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a lover of words. I’m sure it began well before I started celebrating double digit birthdays and between you and me, I’m not going to share how many of those I’ve celebrated through the years. [insert smile here] So because I love words, writing makes sense, in fact, it feels necessary and blogging allows me to share with a wider audience, a world-wide audience and I like that. Blogging is an easy way to share words, thoughts, reflections and what I’m discovering and learning as I do life on planet earth. I’m not sure what took me so long to start one, but through the encouragement of dear friends and family, it finally happened. Thanks friends and fam! Your encouragement made this possible. And a special thank you to my friend Linda Schemmel who helped me get my blog set up. Thanks love! I couldn't have done this without you. Ruthie’s Corner’s was launched on Tuesday, January 18, 2011.

So why do I write?

I write because it makes me feel alive. Truly it does. And I share what I write because I firmly believe that everyone needs a champion in their corner and my friend, God is a great champion. I hope my writing reflects how God inspires me and what I’m learning through my experiences. My desire is to share with you in an authentic and transparent manner. Through my writing, I hope you’ll get to see life from my corner of the world and I hope it'll remind you that God is in your corner too, a real champion who is rooting for you as He desires His very best for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 says: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Don't you just love that??? That verse is like a breath of fresh air to me. It never gets old. It's His promise to us. Its one of the many promises you'll find in God's word. I love that verse for many reasons and especially because it's the first verse that God revealed to me during my spiritual awakening which started during the summer of 1999. I've never forgotten that verse and I hope you won't either. In fact, I hope God will mark this verse on your heart today.

My prayer is that these words, my words, will bless you, encourage you and inspire you. I pray that you'll find comfort and new perspective and that the words that you read here will breathe life into you. And if you find words that help you here, may you hold on to them like people hold on to precious jewels. There's a serious shortage of encouragement in this world and I want to play an active role in changing that. That's why I'm here, sharing my life and sharing my thoughts, one word at a time.

So grab a cup of coffee, make yourself comfortable and stay a while.

Many thanks for reading. Wishing you peace and wholeness today and always.

xx, Ruthie
You were created by a Holy God for greatness so don't just accept whatever comes your way.  You were born to be a champion dear one, a great champion. So live like one. Breathe like one. Love like one. ~Ruthie
